Rumiko has a Totoro purse. I love her immediately.

That panel of Rumiko in a heroic pose directing the disaster response while a purse that looks like somebody killed and stuffed Totoro dangles from her arm is probably my favorite picture of her in all of canon.

Man, I'd forgotten what a great introduction Rumiko had. I love that she teases the fuck out of Tony when they're first introduced, and that Tony completely fails to be smooth. I love that she rescues Tony from Sunset. I love that both Tony and the reader are encouraged to underestimate her at first, and then she turns out to be awesome when it counts.

On a different note, Tony's presentation at the begining is so incredibly 90s, isn't it? Everyone talking about a web browser as if it's the be-all and end-all of cutting edge technology. Hee.

It really is. Right down to the clunky/cutesy nautical icons.
